Car Full Of Drugs, Including Shrooms, Stopped In Montana
Hearing about a traffic stop in Montana really isn't that big of a shocker, especially since we have so many people carelessly driving throughout the state daily.
It's always interesting to hear about what, if anything, was discovered during the stop. A man recently made headlines with what officers found in his vehicle.
Police first attempted to stop the man because he was driving incredibly slow and swerving. Once the police put their lights on, the man decided to increase his speed, reaching 80mph in a zone that has a posted speed of 30mph.
During an initial sweep of the SUV the man was driving, police found a gallon size bag full of mushrooms, and not the kind you buy at the grocery store. After finding the gallon size bag of magic mushrooms, police applied for an actual search warrant. That search warrant was a success after all of the other items police found.
What police found during a more in depth search of the mans vehicle:
- 221.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- 68 capsules that tested positive for LSD
- 40 ml of other liquid drugs
- ammunition
- 2 cell phones
- several 1881 silver dollar coins
The man had his first court appearance where his bail was set at $75,000.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first drug bust that has led police to an overwhelming amount of drugs and or paraphernalia. Earlier this month, a camper was searched and the amount of drugs found was horrific.
Back in April, a home search in Butte, lead to the discovery of 1000's of fentanyl pills. The search included the discovery of machine that had the ability to create between 4500-6000 pills PER HOUR.
PILLS, GUNS, COCAINE, AND MORE FOUND IN HOME SEARCH
These are just three drug arrests that took place in the state. Thankfully, our police department was able to get these drugs off the street.
