Search Of Popular Montana Urban Camping Area Turns Up Drugs
This may come as a surprise to some, and to others, there will be no shock factor what-so-ever.
Bozeman Police witnessed a drug deal go down near an area known for urban camping. Off of 19th in the area of Rawhide Ridge and Max Ave., Bozeman Police witnessed a a man with known drug related charges, make a sale.
When police were approaching the area, the man attempted to flee on his bicycle, but didn't get too far before the Bozeman Police Department (BPD), were able to make an arrest. During his attempted flee, the man apparently discarded a small bag of meth.
The BPD also made contact with two other men at a nearby camper, who were also known to have drug involvement. BPD made the decision to place the camper under surveillance while they obtained a search warrant.
While waiting for the search warrant to be signed by a judge, the BPD realized there was another man inside of the camper. He was also arrested and taken to the hospital for a medical discharge, as it became apparent he had ingested a large amount of drugs while hiding inside the camper.
Once the officers were approved to go in with their signed search warrant, shock set in. The camper they were to search was full of drugs, including copious amounts of fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia.
Thank you to the Bozeman Police Department for their diligent work in cleaning up the streets of Bozeman and hopefully getting more and more deadly drugs off our streets.
