Should The Montana Teams Move To The FBS? Thoughts?

Before you know it, football season will be here in Montana.

I know, I know, folks have been watching the World Cup and right now the whole country is soccer crazy, but that will pass once the pads and helmets go on. Of course, here in Big Sky Country, football is a way of life. And now that the Cats are the defending National Champions, it's even a bigger deal.

In Montana, you're either a Cat or a Griz, and for the last few years, the Cats have been on top. Of course, Griz fans will deny that, but let's be honest here. The Cats have won the Brawl more often than not over the last decade, they've been to the National Championship game 3 times and won it once, and we ran Bobby out of the state with his tail between his legs.

So, what's next for the Cats and Griz?

According to one source, it's time for both teams to take a giant leap forward and move up into FBS. CFBREWIND took at look at the Top 5 FCS schools that should make the move and it won't come as a huge surprise that both the Cats and the Griz are on the list. What might come as a surprise however, is the rankings.

MSU is ranked 2nd, while UM is ranked 1st. If that's not a headscratcher, I'm not sure what is.

My opinion? Let's hold up before we start making moves. A couple schools just made the jump, one of them being North Dakota State. I say watch and see how they do before we start making plans. I mean, really, who needs the FBS? The FCS gets it right when it comes to the playoffs and has for years.

The ONLY reason to make that jump would be for the money, and I'm guessing both schools are doing ok when it comes to donors. What do you think? Should the Montana teams move up or stay where they are?
