Yes, Bozeman is the most expensive city in Montana for rent. In fact, compared to the other Montana cities on the list, you will pay around 700 dollars more a month to live in Bozeman for a 2-bedroom apartment than the other areas.

The folks over at Net Credit decided to figure out if you were better off buying then renting here in Montana, and while I'm not going to get into that, what stuck out to me was the average prices of rent.

As mentioned, Bozeman tops the list for a 2-bedroom with the average amount of rent being 2113.00 a month. The lowest rent on that list is in the city of Butte where the average cost is 1318.00 a month. Oh, for those that are curious, Missoula is the 2nd most expensive city in Montana to rent in and the average price for a 2-bedroom is 1486.00 a month.

So, why is it so much more in Bozeman? Better views? MSU? Great Airport? Close to Yellowstone National Park? Is that really worth 700 dollars more a month?
