We talk about how expensive rentals are in Montana, but when we say Montana, do we mean Bozeman? I live in Bozeman and rent, and let me tell you, it's not cheap. However, there are other towns in Montana where it's a little or a lot more affordable.

With the additional apartments, townhomes, and duplexes being built around the state, people are starting to see a little relief when it comes to rent prices, but according to one report, for those looking to score a good deal, there are a couple of towns in Montana you might want to check out.

Before we reveal the two Montana towns that made the list for the cheapest rent, let's look at some of the worst things about living in Big Sky Country.

Which Montana towns are the most affordable?

Our friends over at WalletHub came out with a list of almost 200 cities, talking rent prices, and they listed the best and worst towns for rent. As mentioned, two Montana towns made the list for the best, and it won't come as a surprise that neither of those towns is Bozeman.

So, which two towns made the list?

Billings and Missoula both made the list, with Billings ranking 15th in the country and Missoula ranking 41st. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the town with the cheapest rent in America, just to our east, over in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Both Billings and Missoula have a lot going for them. Billings, which is the biggest city in the state has tons of options when it comes to retail and social scene while Missoula has always had a vibrant social scene and is home to the University of Montana.

Having said that, Montana's two biggest cities have their challenges as well. So, when choosing where to call home, it's certainly good to look at all of your options.
