Two Park County Teachers Test Positive For COVID-19
Two faculty members at Park High School in Livingston have tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Park County Health Department, the teachers are being quarantined in isolation at home.
A tracing team from the county health department, along with some assistance from the Livingston School District, has reportedly contacted everyone in the school community who had been in close contact with the faculty members who tested positive. Those verified as having recent close contact with them have all received appropriate quarantine instructions and will receive COVID-19 testing in the next 24 hours.
The health department says that an additional positive test result was found through the contact tracing process on Wednesday, and contact tracers are working to alert any additional contacts.
There will be no disruption to the rest of the students, faculty, and staff at any other schools in the District.
This is an unfortunate event but not unexpected,” said Dr. Laurel Desnick, Park County Health Officer. “Over the past several months, the Livingston School District has worked with the Park County Health Department for an event such as this. We appreciate the professionalism of the school administration at this difficult moment. It is a credit to their careful planning that the majority of students and staff are safe.
Park County has reported 65 active cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began back in Mark. Sixty-three of those cases have recovered. The county has had zero deaths associated with COVID-19.
According to the Gallatin City-County Health Department, there are currently 38 active coronavirus cases and two current hospitalizations in Gallatin County. Three deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in the county.
