The Wait Is Over: Iconic Montana Burger Spot Is OPEN
When I first landed in Montana last fall, I started exploring right away. The first river I decided to fish was the Yellowstone—and after a pretty successful day on the water (late fall if I remember right), I was starving. I figured I’d head into Livingston in search of a good old-fashioned burger and fries.
The first place that popped up on my GPS? Mark’s In & Out Beefburgers. So off I went on a mission to quiet my growling stomach.
I pulled up to this charming little 1950s-style spot, totally excited—only to find it closed. I assumed I’d just shown up too late in the day. But later, I looked it up and realized they’re only open seasonally. Dang it.
After reading all the five-star reviews, I knew I’d be counting down until spring. And now, the time has finally come… Mark’s In and Out Beefburgers is officially OPEN for the season! How do I know? I drove by on Saturday and the line was almost out to the road, with cars wrapped around the block.
Mark’s In and Out Beefburgers has been serving up burgers to locals and tourists alike in Livingston since 1954. Yep—71 years of flipping patties and spinning milkshakes right here in Montana.
The best part? The place looks like it hasn’t changed much since then, and honestly, I love that. There’s just something about that old-school charm that hits different.
Mark’s doesn’t mess around when it comes to quality either. Their milkshakes are made with Wilcoxson’s Ice Cream ( made in Livingston since 1912). And those burgers? They’re made with fresh beef from Diamond N Meats, just down the road.

If you’re craving a classic Montana burger experience, Mark’s In and Out Beefburgers is the real deal. Just be ready to wait in line, it’s worth every second.
