The Most Charming Small Town In Montana

Montana is filled with small, charming towns.

The type of towns that take you back to a simpler time. The kind of place where business on Main Street is still a thing, folks still go to the local Barber or Beauty Shop to learn all the latest gossip, and everyone shows up for a parade.

It's one of my favorite things about Montana.

Towns like Ennis, Red Lodge, Hamilton, Phillipsburg, and so many others capture the spirit of Montana. It's a place where the community comes together on Friday nights to watch a high school football or basketball game. It's the type of place where everyone knows what the special of the day over at the town diner.

My favorite Montana small town is Livingston

While I only live half an hour away or so, I don't get over there near enough, but when I do, I always get the warmest welcome. The folks of Livingston are some of my favorite people, and apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks highly of the town.

The Social Media site Towners goes around to different communities and rates them according to different criteria. Categories include the following:

• Food Scene
• Asthestic
• Entertainment
• Affordability
• Things To Do
• Culture

So, how did Livingston do? According to the total score, with 60 being the highest amount you can receive, Livingston scored a 40.5

Looking at the breakdown, the food scene scored a 6.5 out of 10, while the aesthetic was a 9 out of 10. How about entertainment and affordability? 5.5 for entertainment and for affordability, Livingston received a 6.5

The final two categories were things to do and culture, and the town scored a 7.5 for things to do while only getting a 5.5 for culture.

I love the town, it's one of my favorite places to go, and it reminds me of what my hometown used to be like 40 years ago, with local shops downtown, lots of cool building billboards, and a ton of historic buildings. Oh, and did we mention it looks like it came straight out of a Hallmark movie with those mountains in the background?
