Is Montana A Safe Place To Call Home?
Here in Big Sky Country, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of at all times. The weather and the wildlife.
Both can be very dangerous and cause a person a whole lot of issues, but it seems that's not the only thing to worry about. According to recent news, Montana might have a problem when it comes to crime.
There are a few towns that have always had a reputation of being a little rougher and tougher than others (Billings and Butte, anyone?), but for the most part, we've always been considered a pretty safe place.
Although there are rumors that certain towns tend to hide their crimes from media outlets, to continue to be top tourist destinations.
I mean, think about it, almost every Montanan owns at least one firearm, right? So you would think that criminals might think twice before deciding to make any sudden moves or do anything shady. However, according to recent data, Montana might not be as safe as we think it is.

How safe is Montana?
Aesthetic Atlas came out with a list of the Top 10 Safest States in the United States, and Montana didn't make the list; however, some of our neighbors did.
Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming all ranked in the Top 10. Idaho was ranked 10th, Utah 9th, and Wyoming 8th. There is good news, though. According to Google, when you take a look at multiple factors, including things like violent crime, gun death, and homicide, while the Treasure State didn't make the Top 10, we are ranked 11th.

However, if you are living out of state and reading this, remember, while we're a safe state, we're also expensive, so you should probably stay where you're at.
