Oktoberfest In Livingston Offers Food, Fun, And Family Activities
Did you know that 25 percent of Montanans come from some sort of German heritage?
While when folks talk about Montana, it seems the Irish always come up, there's actually a higher percentage of "Germans" in Montana than "Irish." As someone who has portions of both in my DNA, I feel like I have the best of both worlds, but St.Patrick's Day isn't for another few months, so let's talk about Oktoberfest here in Montana.
For those of you who missed out on the celebrations in Big Sky and Whitefish, coming up this weekend, Livingston will be having their 2nd Street Oktoberfest, and there is something for everyone.

The event will kick off at 4 pm Saturday, the 18th, and will go through 7 pm. There are events for everyone, including the Stein Holding Contest, Calf Dummy Roping, the Limbo, and a ton of other activities, including Chalk Walks, Crafts, etc.
Did we mention the food?
Of course, it isn't Oktoberfest without delicious German fare and a beer or two. There will be lots of culinary creations to choose from, vendors include:
- Follow Yer Nose Barbeque
- Bad Burger
- The Owl
- The Hiatt House
- The Elks Lodge
- Twisted Brothers Pretzels
- Little Bird Bakery
- Rocky Mountain Nut Company
- Engine Room
The food varies from apple strudel, pretzels, burgers, brats, roasted nuts, and many other items. Plus, they'll have adult beverages along with "mocktails" for people to enjoy during the festivities.
Oh, and for those of you looking to get a jumpstart on your Holiday Shopping, many of the downtown stores will be open. Great food, great drink, great fun, AND great deals? What could be better?

Check out the 2nd Street Oktoberfest in Livingston this Saturday from 4 pm until 7 pm.
