World Famous Montana Road Is Officially Open
Every summer we wait for the anticipated opening of the world famous Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. People literally travel from all over the world to take the scenic drive and see the incredible beauty that is held within one of America's favorite national parks.
Every year, for the past 5 years, almost 3 million people visited Glacier National Park. Of course, during the pandemic numbers were much lower as the park was closed from the end of March to early June in 2020.

There is good news for those of you waiting for your Going to the Sun Road experience. Glacier National Park's Going to the Sun road opened to vehicles on Saturday, June 22nd, for the 2024 summer season.
You will be able to access Logan Pass both from West Glacier and the St. Mary entrances. The number of available vehicle reservations will be increased and park officials stated that for the remainder of the season, this increase in available vehicle reservations will be carried out through the next-day reservations available at 7 PM each day.
Vehicle reservations are exclusively available on Recreation.gov and not available at the park entrance. Vehicle reservations are required to enter Going to the Sun Road from the west side of the park past Apgar.
Wondering if you need a reservation? Yes you do. Reservations are required for those traveling by vehicle or motorcycle from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day through September 8, 2024.
