While America isn't the only country with National Parks, I feel like we do it better than most.

With 63 National Parks across the United States, two of the most popular are located here in Montana. (I know, only a small part of Yellowstone is actually in Montana). Both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks offer breathtaking scenery, but that's not all.

Both are home to lodging that are both unique and historic. In Yellowstone, the claim to fame is the Old Faithful Inn. The Inn was is over 120 years old, is a must see if you are visiting Yellowstone. Like many of the lodging in the western part of the country and Canada, the railroad was behind much of it, including Old Faithful Inn.

Which Montana Hotel has been named the "Gem of the West"?

While Old Faithfull Inn is located in Wyoming, there is a place in Glacier National Park that has been called the "the most stunning and beautiful lodge in the National Park system".

If you've ever been to Glacier, hopefully you've had the chance to check out Many Glacier Hotel. Much like Old Faithful, the structure is over 120 years old and was also built by the railroad, in fact the folks over at The Great Northern Railway called the Hotel the "Gem of the West".  Many consider the Many Glacier Hotel to be the finest hotel of it's kind.

Located on Swift Current Lake, the Hotel is not only historic, but fills up fast. The hotel has different types of rooms, however, all of them come with their own bathroom.
