I mean, Montana is home to some incredibly beautiful scenery and much of that are the states waterways. With well over 3000 lakes here in Big Sky Country, we are bound to have a few that are pretty stunning. The question is, which one made the list for the most scenic?

No doubt all of those are stunning, but none of them were named Montana's most scenic lake. In fact, the most scenic lake in Montana is located in a National Park and has a pretty sweet history

Which Montana Lake is the most scenic?

According to the folks over at Unreal Lakes, the Montana lake that makes the list was named back in 1895 and happens to be one of the only lakes in Glacier National Park its size and elevation that actually has fish in it.

Avalanche Lake is not only a popular attraction, but it was also named one of the most stunning lakes in the United States.

So, what makes this lake so special? Well, there's several reasons, but you can't overlook how the lake works in unison with time and Mother Nature. The lake receives meltwater from Sperry Glacier, which was named after Dr. Sperry who actually is the person that named Avalanche Lake.
