The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) announced the Rouse Avenue - Main to Oak project has paused for the winter.  Both Rouse Avenue and Peach Street are now open. This road opening occurs just in time for skiers to use the route to head up to Bridger Bowl for the winter season.

The Rouse Avenue - Main to Oak project will return to construction in spring 2020 and is currently anticipated to finish in late 2020.

Earlier this year, construction began in October and focused on installing box culverts that allow Bozeman Creek to flow underneath the road.  Due to weather only one culvert was able to be completed.

According to a press release, Geno Liva a Butte District Construction Engineer stated

We hear it all the time. Montana has two seasons – winter and road construction. . . After winter, we have a short window where construction on Rouse Avenue is feasible. We’re now entering our ‘second season’ – that phase where we put the orange cones away and prepare for winter.
