Montana State Homecoming: What, When, And Where.
Bobcats young and old, it's almost time to "come home" and all this week, there will be events happening around campus for the 2024 Montana State University Homecoming.
Of course, two of the biggest events will take place on both Friday and Saturday. Friday is the Homecoming Pep Rally and Saturday the Cats host Northern Colorado at Bobcat Stadium.
For those who are wondering the whole "Homecoming" tradition has been around for a long time. Historians say that the first Homecoming took place at the University of Missouri as a way to get people to go to the football game. It worked, and as they say, the rest is history.
Homecoming now is something that happens at almost every high school and college across the country.
What are some of the Homecoming activities happening around Bozeman?
The fun kicked off on Monday, but some big events this week include "the lighting of the M". The beloved tradition occurs on Thursday evening with a gathering at Story Mill Park. There will be refreshments and students will hike to the M which it be illuminated at 8 pm.
Friday will include several activities including Blue and Gold Friday, Spirit photos, and the pep rally.
When is the MSU Pep Rally, Parade, and Homecoming Game?
The Pep Rally will be Friday evening and will feature not only players, but Coach Vigen will be there as well. Plus, Champ and the Spirit of the West Marching Band will also be in attendance to help get the crowd pumped up.
Saturday the Homecoming Parade will take place at 10 am on Main Street in downtown Bozeman. The game between Northern Colorado and our Bobcats will kick off at 2 pm at Bobcat Stadium.
The Cats are currently ranked 3rd in the polls with a 5-0 record and looking to stay unbeaten as they host their Big Sky rival. It looks to be an exciting week and as always, Go Cats!
