Montana State Football Continue To Flirt With Perfection
One of the best lines of any show comes from Andy on The Office during the final episode when he says the following:
"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them."
I've thought about that a lot lately, especially when it comes to Montana State Football.
This has been a season that folks will talk about for years to come. An undefeated regular season (first in the history of the program) and now we're one win away from heading back to Frisco, Texas for the National Championship Game.
While we certainly don't want to look past Saturday's game against South Dakota, it's hard not to think about playing in the big game. With four teams remaining, we are down to the best of the best.
Saturday's game at Bobcat Stadium will no doubt be action-packed as the 4th-seeded Coyotes come to take on the number-one-seed Bobcats. So far, the Cats have looked like the team to beat, but as you know, in College Football, in the Playoffs, anything can happen.
The truth is, these are the good old days.
We're in the middle of them right now. We have a Head Coach who will no doubt be in demand for bigger programs. We have a Quarterback who is not only a great athlete, but a great person. We have a team that plays together, believes in each other, and is determined to bring a Natty back to Bozeman.
Then there is Bobcat Nation. Sure, there are bigger schools with bigger fan bases. But the passion and the love that MSU fans show for this team rival any of those big-time schools. Oh, and it's not just some local saying that.
Remember a couple of years back when ESPN Gameday came to town? They went on the record saying their favorite stop that year was Bozeman, Montana.
So while most of Montana will be cheering for the Bobcats this Saturday, take the time to enjoy every minute of this, because this is the stuff we'll tell our kids and grandkids about one day. Go Cats!
