The last few years have been an exciting time to be a fan of Bobcat Football. We've seen a National Championship game, ESPN Gameday in Bozeman, and the legend of "Touchdown" Tommy continues to grow.

This year is no different, the Cats are off to an 8-0 start, which is the best start in the last 60 years.  Think about that, the last time the Cats had this kind of start to the season was 1964.

The President was LBJ, we had yet to put a man on the moon, and The Beatles had just arrived in America. Needless to say, a large population of Bobcat Nation wasn't around yet, including Head Coach Brent Vigen

Just to put it into perspective the average cost of a gallon of gas in 1964 was 30 cents, Ford had just introduced the Mustang, and the average cost of a new home was under 20 thousand dollars.

Oh, how the times have changed.

What is the strategy for the Bobcats going forward?

Of course, when you have that type of success, it's easy to jump ahead and start thinking about Brawl of the Wild, Home Playoff games, and a big parade in downtown Bozeman after the Cats win the National Championship. Needless to say, that's kind of getting ahead of things.

The truth is, it's a game-by-game process. One of the biggest mistakes teams make is overlooking opponents and focusing on things that are a bit too far down the road.

Here's the rest of the regular season schedule for Bobcat Football.

Up next for the Cats is a game against Eastern Washington on November 2nd on the red turf in Cheney, Washington. While the Eagles might be struggling this year, any game against a Conference opponent is always a challenge and not to be taken lightly.

That game will be followed by a home game against Sac State on Saturday, November 9th which also happens to be the Military Appreciation Game. After that, the Cats hit the road to take on UC Davis, then are back at Bobcat Stadium to host the Griz for The Brawl of the Wild.

Once again, it's one game at a time, but how big would Cat/Griz be if the Cats went into that game undefeated? And while The Brawl of the Wild is certainly the biggest game for many Montana/Montana State fans, it sure would be nice to finish what we started back in Frisco a few years back.
