What Are Montanans Eating At Cat and Griz Tailgates?

It's hard to believe, but Football Season is almost here and that will mean folks getting together to cheer on the Cats and Griz.

Sure, there are other teams in the state, but when it comes to Montana, it seems you are either a Cat fan or a Griz fan. It's one of the oldest rivalries West of the Mississippi and it seems like it's only gotten bigger over the last few years. There was ESPN Game Day in Bozeman, then there was meeting in the playoffs, and of course if you are a Cat fan, last year ended with a National Championship.

While Cat and Griz fans might not agree on much, we can agree that we love to tailgate before our favorite team takes the field. As someone who has tailgated at every single regular season home game in Bozeman for the last several years, I can tell you that Cat fans take tailgating very seriously. There is food, there is drink, there is cheering, and it's all mixed together.

One of the best parts about tailgating is the sense of unity. On Saturday in the Fall in Montana, no matter if you are wearing the Blue and Gold or the Maroon and Silver, you are part of something bigger than yourself, and that's a pretty cool feeling.

Who tailgates better? Cat fans or Griz fans?
