West Yellowstone Mourns The Loss Of A Beloved Building
Change can be hard here in Montana.
While no one really likes change, the truth is that much of Montana has undergone a significant amount in the last few years. The pandemic brought a huge group of people to the state and many mom and pop shops are being replaced by fancy named places that some us can't pronounce.
Oh, and it's not not in the bigger towns like Bozeman and Missoula that it's happening, the smaller towns are seeing the changer as well, and some residents aren't real happy about it.

Montana has long been a place where people come to visit. There is Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, plus Flathead, Lewis and Clark Caverns, Gates of the Mountains, and many other to visit while you're here in Big Sky Country. However, one of the more iconic spots has been torn down.
Which iconic Montana building was demolished?
Located in the tourist town of West Yellowstone, locals and tourists alike have been coming to the old IMAX theatre for decades, however, it's now a thing of the past. While locals would refer to it as the "IMAX" the official name was the Yellowstone Giant Screen.
I was scrolling through social media and saw video of the destruction of the beloved building. With the help of some heavy equipment, it looked like it was coming down at a pretty quick pace. Think about that, just like that, a place where so many memories are made for so many, is gone.
So, what's going to take it's place?
Well, there have been several suggestions on social media, some of them jokes, some of them actual guesses. One of the things floating around is an RV park. Several of the folks chiming in also expressed their sadness over losing the iconic building.

It's certainly an interesting choice as many Montanans claim that while there are a ton of things to do outside here in the Treasure State, there's not a lot of indoor activities. Apparently, we just lost another.
