Top 6 Places To See While Visiting Bozeman

For many Montanans, Bozeman is a bad word. Most of them are either Griz fans, or they've come to distain progress and what Bozeman has become, compared to what it used to be.

Bozeman is a city on the rise. I read somewhere that the population of the city has grown around 40 percent since 2010 and it looks like things aren't slowing down all that much. A quick drive around town and you can see all of the apartment buildings and townhomes that are being built.

Although some Montanans might not like Bozeman, I recently spent a week on a Alaskan Cruise where lots of folks asked me where I lived and when I mentioned Bozeman, they were intrigued. It seems outside of Montana, Bozeman is known as one of the most stunning places around and I tend to agree.

So, for those who are making the trip to Bozeman, here is a list of the things you need to see while in the area.

• Museum of the Rockies - The MOR is impressive anytime of the year, but during the summer, you have the chance to check out the Living History Farm which is a fantastic throw back to what it was like in Montana a century or so ago.
• Downtown Bozeman - For those who are looking for a bite to eat, or a drink or two, Downtown Bozeman has all of that and more. Not only is it filled with restaurants and bars, but there is a ton of retail shops to check out as well as art galleries.
• Palisade Falls - If I can do this hike, so can you. There is nothing like being out in the woods in Montana and this is a perfect place to do it. Located near Bozeman, this allows you to take in all of the beauty and see some pretty impressive water falls.
• American Computer and Robotics Museum - The MOR isn't the only museum to check out when in Bozeman. Make sure you head over to the ACRM and check out all of the displays.
• The Western Cafe - There is a reason folks go on and on about the Western. First, it's been around for a century, second, it's the perfect mix of old Bozeman and a real example of a Montana cafe. Oh, and the food is pretty good as well. You should know that you might need to wait a bit, but it's worth it.
• Lewis and Clark Caverns - While not in Bozeman, they're just a short drive from town. The Caverns have received all kinds of praise and are certainly worth check out. It should be noted thought that there are some tight spaces, so if you are claustrophobic or large in size, you might want to sit this one out.

Of course there are several other spots that could have made the list including hiking to the M, visiting the MSU campus, checking out the Montana Grizzly Encounter and many more.
