The Gallatin City-County Health Department announced on Friday, July 31st that a third person has died in the county with COVID-19. The woman was in her 90s and passed away from complications due to COVID-19.

She was hospitalized, but no further details are to be released out of respect for the family. The department is saddened by the news, and Matt Kelley, Gallatin City-County Health Department Health Officer, stated:

It’s heartbreaking to lose anyone and we send our condolences to family and friends. We will continue to work to prevent additional illness and deaths and we ask that all Gallatin County citizens continue to take this seriously and take steps to keep our community safe. We need everyone to take measures to help us slow transmission.

 

This is the third death in Gallatin County related to COVID-19. The first occurred back on April 27th. The second was announced earlier this week but took place on July 7th. This recent death adds to the state total which is now at 60, according to the State Department of Public Health.

Below are the numbers released by the Health Department at 12 p.m. on July 31st. The number of current hospitalizations is set to be reduced by one in light of the most recent news.
