Throughout the summer, the Gallatin Valley Mall is presenting the Best of 406 Marketplace. It's all local vendors selling handmade, grown, created, built, or improved items from Montana.

The event will run each Friday through September 25th (rain or shine) from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. in the GVM parking lot near Tire Rama. The plan is to keep it going in the fall by moving it inside the mall.

If you're interested in participating as a vendor, call Anne Guillon at 406.577.4310 or email 406marketmanager@gmail.com. You can also visit the Gallatin Valley Mall's website at GallatinValleyMall.com/bestof406marketplace

In a press release about the 406 Marketplace, the Gallatin Valley mall says,

Many small local businesses have experience economic challenges as a result of COVID-19. GVM has created a space in the mall where they can support those businesses by giving them a home base to sell their products and allow them to benefit from the same level and quality of customer traffic delivered to permanent retailers at GVM. The goal is simple- to keep our local economy alive and strong. In additional to welcoming local vendors to the Marketplace, nearly 50% of retailers and restaurants at GVM are locally owned and operated."

Patrons and vendors are asked to adhere to the following social distancing policies:

  • Maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from one another while shopping and waiting in line.
  • The use of face coverings or masks is strongly encouraged, per CDC recommendation, especially in circumstances that don't readily allow for appropriate physical distancing.
  • One-way aisles will be marked, and occupancy levels will be monitored.
Vendors are encouraged to have hand sanitizer or wipes readily available for customers to use.
  • Vendors are encouraged to use a touch-free checkout method.
Vendors who feel sick are asked to stay home.
