Watanabe Japanese Restaurant on West Main Street in Bozeman announced Thursday that it will not open back up. The owners posted this on their Watanabe Facebook page:

After a lot of thought and consideration, we have decided to close Watanabe Japanese Restaurant permanently.
Following the closure, we will retire and move back to Japan after doing some fishing. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we would like to thank you for your appreciation and support over the last thirteen fruitful years!
We are grateful for the opportunity to have lived in Montana and call Bozeman our home. Please accept our deepest thanks. Old Samurai never die, they just fade away.
- Ted and Rumiko Watanabe
This is the second Bozeman restaurant this week to announce they are closing. Saffron Table issued a similar statement as Watanabe on their Facebook page, thanking their customers and letting them know they would not be coming back once the health department issued closure is lifted next week.
