Why You Need A Back Up Plan When Visiting Parts Of Montana
I was down around Gardiner over the weekend and I noticed all the folks visiting Yellowstone National Park. Of course, Yellowstone is the oldest National Park in the country, and maybe the most famous in the world.
While I enjoy Yellowstone, my favorite is Glacier. I realize some will agree and others will disagree, and that's fine.

The truth? We are blessed to have them both here in Montana. They are enjoyed by tourists as well as locals, and are no doubt National Treasure, and because of that, well, let's just say that both parks made a special list.
The folks over at Cheapism decided to pick 16 places across the United States that you shouldn't visit without some sort of backup plan and it just so happens that both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks made the list.
The reasons? Well, there are more than one.
For Yellowstone, they say that the traffic can be a real challenge and that you might get stuck in bumper to bumper. Remember, in Yellowstone, it's all about the Animals. It's their home and you're just a visitor. So, if a heard of Bison decide to hang out on the road for an hour or two, you're stuck.
Next up is Glacier. The selling point for Glacier National Park is Going To The Sun Road, however, you never know when there will be severe weather, a rock slide, or construction. So, a back up plan is probably a good idea.
Cheapism does name a few things to do in each area. In the Yellowstone area, they suggest checking out West Yellowstone or Hebgen Lake. Around Glacier, there is White Fish and Flathead Lake.
