Neuter Your Ex (Kind Of)

Yes, you read that right—but not in the way you might be thinking. Several animal shelters, including the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in New Jersey and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, offer a unique way to turn heartbreak into a good cause.

With a small donation, these shelters will name a soon-to-be-neutered cat in your ex's honor, symbolizing that they should not breed.

Prefer Your Ex to be Ripped to Shreds?

The Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage, Alaska, has a campaign called "Love Hurts: Valentines Fundraiser 2025." They offer two different options to feed your ex to their birds.

Donate $10, and they will feed a mealworm named after said ex. Donate $100; a rat will be named in your ex's honor and fed to a raptor.

The program has been inundated with so many requests that they have released a statement to donors...

"due to an unexpectedly overwhelming response to Love Hurts, we will be delayed in emailing videos to those who have donated... Our birds can only eat so many rats..." - Bird Treatment and Learning Center

Is Your Ex a Turd?

The Memphis Zoo in Tennessee is here to allow you to "Name a turd after a turd."

For just $10, you will receive a digital thank you card and one video of an elephant pooping to share with your not-so beloved. It sounds like a great $10 spent to help conservation and a way to dump on your ex.

So, if love has left you cold this year, why not embrace a little lighthearted revenge for a good cause? Who knows—maybe it's time Montana joins in on the fun.
