Living in Montana isn't for everyone.

Once you get past all of the "Hollywood Glam" that the folks in the entertainment industry use, you realize that Montana is still a rough and tough place. Oh sure, there are fancy cities and towns like Big Sky, Whitefish, and Bozeman, but that represents only a portion of Montana and its people.

Much of Montana remains old-school. People work hard, providing for their families, and they hunt and fish not only for pleasure, but also for survival.

While it's true Montana has its fair share of 5-Star restaurants and resorts, the majority of Montanans are simple, everyday folks who are just trying their best to make ends meet and put food on the table.

What foods are popular in Montana?

When you think of Montana and its culinary creations, what comes to mind? The Pork Chop Sandwich? How about a pasty? According to one social media site that picked the weirdest food from every state, Montana's "weirdest food" is a bit out there.

Montana's weirdest food is.....roadkill. Yep, you read that right. There are Montanans who will eat dead things found on the side of the road. Listen, I'm not one to judge, but I can positively say that I've never eaten roadkill and have zero plans of sampling it in the future.

However, I do have a co-worker who has tried it and assures me that if the situation is right and prepared properly, it can be delicious. I should also mention that my co-worker plays the banjo and has an Aunt who chewed tobacco for years.
