Montana Says “Goodbye” To Its Most Famous Restaurant
Montana is known as a rough and tough cowboy state.
So, when it comes to the culinary scene you would expect a lot of meat and potatoes, which we have in several wonderful steak houses across Big Sky Country, but there is more to Montana than just that.
Here in Big Sky Country we are known for many different culinary creations, including some wonderful 5 Star restaurants. Plus, we have a few "local" dishes that we have put on the map like pastys, the porkchop sandwich, and the nut burger.

Butte's Pekin Noodle Parlor To Close
After serving customers for 115 years, a Butte staple has announced that it is closing it's doors and saying goodbye to its many loyal customers. On a social media post, the owner of Pekin Noodle Parlor announced the restaurant was calling it quits.
Nothing lasts forever, but this feels like the loss of a friend, I mean, can you imagine being a restaurant in business for over 100 years?
In the post, the current owner of the restaurant stated the following:
Thank you for your loyalty, your stories, your laughter, and your support through the decades. You made Peking Noodle Parlor what it was, and we will forever be grateful to have been part of your lives.
One of the reasons stated for the closure of the restaurant was the "changing economic conditions".
Whether you were a loyal customer or one of these folks who said "one of these days, I'm going to try that place" this is a sad day for Butte, Montana, and the country. Think about it, 115 years serving folks, and during that time, ownership stayed in the family. It really is remarkable, not to mention that the restaurant won a James Beard Award and has been featured on national television.
Folks have wondered when the last day would be, and according to the internet, it says the restaurant is "temporally closed". So, have we seen the last of the Pekin Noodle Parlor?

It would seem so, but remember, there is another Butte classic that people thought was gone forever that recently re-opened, and much like the Pekin, Matt's Place is also a Butte landmark, so who knows what the future holds.
