One Buck Dead After Head-On Collision

The days are getting shorter, which means bucks are in pre-rut for breeding season. While in pre-rut the bucks will fight to show their dominance.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks were called out when two large, 5x5 white-tailed bucks became locked together.  Unfortunately, one buck was already dead but Game Warden Sergeant Jon Obst was able to administer anesthesia to the other buck.  He was able to  cut away the antler of the dead buck and free the other.  The buck came out of sedation quickly and was soon bounding away.
