Montana’s Hidden Gems Make Staycations A Summer Delight
Now that the Montana weather is warming up and summer is just around the corner, folks are planning on what they'll be doing for vacation.
I came across a stat the other day saying that because of the rising costs of everything, 40 percent of Americans will be staying home this summer, which seems like a big bummer. Don't get me wrong, I understand folks are hurting, but for those living here in Big Sky Country, maybe it's time for a staycation.
What to do in Montana
There is plenty to do and see here in Montana. From ghost towns to National Forests, the Treasure State is just that, a treasure. There are all kinds of rivers and stream to explore, trails to hike, plus all of the museums that highlight the history and life we have here in Montana, oh, and who wouldn't love a Montana summer rodeo?
Yes, we have easy access to both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. A Montana road trip might just be one of the best things you can do this summer. We have over 50 State Parks and a ton of history to explore.

Oh, and for those who don't want to pay a ton for lodging, there are over 1400 campground across the state.
Montana is also home to two of the most beautiful roads in the country. Beartooth Highway and Going-To-The-Sun Road. So, if you're planning on doing a road trip, you can't go wrong with either one of those. My suggestion? Get out and explore Montana and while you do, make sure you check out all the mom-and-pop shops along the way.
Stop in, buy something, and more of all, enjoy your time.
