You don't have to look far to find locals expressing their opinions against out-of-staters moving here. A few seconds on any social media-based chat board will find multiple locals suggesting that the transplants "Go back where they came from!".
Over the last year to 18 months, it's been suggested that the number of people moving to Montana has slowed down, however, according to new data, that might not be the case. Before we dive into the rankings, let's look at some of the most charming towns in Montana.

Are people still moving to Montana in large numbers?
The simple answer is, yes. While the numbers might have fallen off in the last couple of years, Montana still makes the Top 10 list of states people are moving to the most according to one source.
Montana ranks 7th on the list according to the data. However, most of the Top 10 are located in the western part of the United States. The only three states on the list not in the West are Alabama, Arkansas, and Virginia.
Western states ranked ahead of Montana include Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Arizona.
