Here’s The Five States Sending The Most New Residents To Montana

Depending on who you talk to, Montana might or might not be full.

The truth? Montana is no where near full, but for some, the idea of more people is enough to keep them awake at night. They lay there and toss and turn when thinking about all of those Californians moving here and force-feeding us their out-of-state ways. (I'm being a little sarcastic)

So what do they do? Well, they fire up their laptops and smart phones and they become big, bad, keyboard warriors who cyberbully anyone that disagree with them. So tough.

I'm not going to lie, I kind of like Montana as it is, but I also know that change happens and while Montana might be the last best place, to quote one Robert Dylan, "the times, they're a changing". While folks might not be lining up to move to Montana like they used to, they're still coming and these are the states they're moving from according to US Census data.

• Washington
• Colorado
• Arizona
• Texas

While we knew that many from California and Washington where coming here, I was a bit surprised to see the other three on the list. I thought everything was better in Texas? Why are Texans moving here? Other than the fact that for six months a year it's like living on the Sun. Same with Arizona. However, both are much more reasonable when it comes to home ownership, even if you have to run the AC 10 months a year.

Another surprise is Colorado.

Colorado is a beautiful place with stunning mountains and terrific outdoor adventure, however, maybe too many folks moved to Colorado, so now the Coloradans are moving to Montana.

I suppose it's all about the timing. Montana is in the spotlight as the "it" spot. However, at some point, there will be another "it" spot and everyone will want to move there. Until that happens, there are a few locals that will be tossing and turning at night.
