With just over a million people who call home, we all have the things we love about the state. For me, while I love living in Bozeman with all of the social opportunities and retail options, I'm a huge fan of nostalgia, and some of these old-school small towns are absolute perfection.

Montana's 5 best cities
The folks over at Mind Snack compiled a list of the 5 Best Cities in Montana, and while personal opinions may differ, let's check out the list and see if your favorite Montana city makes the list.
According to the data, the first entry on our list is certainly the smallest when it comes to population. Whitefish, Montana, has long been a favorite destination for both locals and visitors. With a small-town vibe, it's been called the friendliest city not only in Montana, but the entire country.
4th on the list is the city of Billings. Billings is the state's biggest city and continues to see growth. While it has a bit of a blue-collar vibe, the city offers a ton when it comes to retail.
Next up is Helena. The State's Capitol has a long history and at one point, had more millionaires per capita than any other city in the United States. While state politics might be what it's known for, Helena is a nice town, with friendly people and a rich history that is certainly worth exploring.
2nd on the list is the city of Missoula. The state's 2nd biggest city, Missoula, is home to an eclectic group of people. From business owners to hippies, you will find something for everyone in the Garden City.
Finally, there is the city of Bozeman. While it might not shock too many people that Bozeman takes the top spot, the city has seen massive growth over the last few years. Home to Montana State University, Bozeman is quickly becoming a destination location, which is both good and bad for locals.
