Montana Airport Rolls Out Rare Visitor Pass Allowing Access Beyond TSA
As you are aware, if you have flown anytime in the past 20 or so years, airport security is tight. It is a whole process going through scanners, figuring out what you can and cannot take on the plane, and my least favorite part is taking your shoes off. Nasty. One thing that is also pretty universal across the United States, with a few exceptions, is that non-travelers are not allowed to go past security.
A handful of airports offer special programs or limited passes, but it is not something you see often. Well, big news. One Montana airport just made this possible for locals and visitors alike.
Glacier Park International Airport announced a brand new Visitor Pass program that will now allow non-ticketed guests to go through TSA security. That means you can meet someone right at their gate, shop or grab food past security, or simply explore the newly expanded terminal. The airport says this is an effort to create a more welcoming experience and give families more time together before or after flights.
If you want to take part, guests will need to fill out a Visitor Pass application. You can do this on the same day you plan to visit, or up to 7 days beforehand. Note that passes are limited and given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitor Pass holders will still need to follow all TSA regulations just like ticketed passengers. That still includes screening process, the 3-1-1 liquids rule, and all normal restrictions on prohibited items. Each pass is valid for one day only, from the approved entry time until 9 p.m.

If you are interested in checking out the new portion of the airport or seeing a loved one off then you can apply to the Visitor Pass section on iflyglacier.com.
