Vehicle thefts are rising in America, and when you look at the data, it seems as if thieves really have certain types in mind.

Every year, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) website puts out a new data report that shows what thieves are targeting nationally.

One thing the latest data report showed was that vehicle theft had a continuing trend upwards, as there was a 7% increase from the year prior.

What to do when your vehicle is stolen might seem like an easy answer, but in the moment, you might not be thinking clearly.

According to NICB, you need to immediately call the police, as statistically, over a third of vehicles are found the same day they are stolen, with over 45% within two days.

Next, make sure to call your insurance agent, as most times they'll need a police report before they can start a claim on your stolen vehicle.
