While drinking has always been a Montana pastime, it seems that the numbers have increased over the last few years, especially since the pandemic with figures showing that Montanans are buying almost 25 percent more liquor since 2020.

According to the facts and figures Nevada, the District of Columbia (we know, it's not a state so technically we're 4th), Delaware, and New Hampshire all rank higher. The folks of New Hampshire outdrink Montanans by over a gallon coming in on an average of 4.43 gallons of ethanol consumption.
