UPDATE --

Dozer crews got a fire lines in place and the fire activity has dropped significantly. Crews will be working on hot spots and monitoring the fire overnight. Evacuation warning and road blocks are being pulled at this time.

The Park County Sheriff's Office received a call this afternoon (9/9)  at 2:22 p.m about a wildfire northwest of Livingston in the Fleshman Creek / O'Rea Creek area.

The fire is in Rural Fire District #1. Crews from the U.S Forest Service, Montana State DNRC, Park County Sheriff's Office, and other Park County Fire Departments are assisting Fire Chief Dann Babcox in working to contain the fire.

According to the Park County Sheriff's Office, Air resources were called in and there have been water and slurry drops. Smoke Jumpers were just dropped in to assist with suppression efforts. So far, no evacuations have been ordered.

Currently the fire is estimated to be about 200 acres and there is active burning on the north side. Water drops are continuing.

There are temporary Road Closures on O'Rea Creek and Fleshman Creek roads to keep non-residents out of the area. Area residents were contacted by PCSO deputies and placed in a warning status.
