Bobcats Receive First-Round Bye; Get Home Game in Second-Round
The Montana State Bobcats received a huge reward for defeating the Montana Grizzlies 48-17. Sunday morning, the Bobcats were awarded a first-round bye in the FCS playoffs, which begin on Saturday. They'll also get a home game on December 7th.
Moving up to #5 in rankings after their win over the Griz (who dropped to #6), the Bobcats will host the winner of Central Connecticut State vs Albany. Those teams will meet this coming Saturday. While we don't know who the Cats will play yet, we do know that the second-round playoff game is scheduled for December 7th at 1 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.
The top four seeds for the FCS Playoffs are:
- North Dakota State (12-0)
- James Madison (11-1)
- Weber State (9-3)
- Sacramento State (9-3) - Bobcats lost to Sac State on Oct 12, 31-24.
Despite losing to the Bobcats in the Brawl of the Wild this weekend, Montana also received a first-round bye, and will play the winner of S.E. Louisiana and Villanova at home on December 7th.
