The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for upper elevations beginning Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.  The advisory has been issued for Gallatin, Jefferson, Madison, Central & Southern Lewis & Clark, and Beaverhead counties.

With this advisory we can expect:

  • Up to 8 inches of snow above 6,000 feet
  • Up to 12 inches above 7,500 feet
  • Slippery road conditions
  • Low visibility
  • Difficult travel conditions especially on local passes.
  • Hazardous backcountry
    conditions.
  • Heavy snow could be damaging to trees.

The National Weather Service was clear that this Winter Storm Watch does not include the cities of Bozeman, Ennis, Dillon, or Helena.
