Reading some news articles the other day, a headline popped up regarding moving to certain small towns and getting paid to do it. Interesting I thought, so I click on it to read what it is all about. There are numerous small cities around the US that are increasing the incentives to move, work, and live there. The idea, to increase the income for their community, increase the population so jobs can get back up and running effectively, and to get some money back in the community. Apparently, this is not working as hoped. These little towns are offering $10,000-$15,000 sign on just to move there. Grab your stuff, start working, and on your first check, you have your money! One business even included $1000 in gift certificates to a local Sandwich spot.

Why wouldn't anyone take these positions? The incentives sound good, really good actually I would think. Here is the problem, the people with families don't want to uproot their kids to a new school, leave family that may be within a short distance to your current location, and the dreaded "nothing fun to do". Some of these places don't look bad at all to be honest. BUT, if you are a single person trying to ground your feet in Bozeman and you are struggling, there are options out there.
