We all know Montana has some jaw dropping scenery to check out, great eats, and fun things to check out around town. But beyond all the normal tourist stuff, we do have some quirky side things worth checking out. Here are five unique activities to consider in Montana that you may not have thought of before.

#5 Garden of One Thousand Buddhas
Nestled against the mountains in Jocko Valley, just north of Missoula, sits something you'd never expect in Big Sky Country. Hundreds upon hundreds of serene Buddha statues, all perfectly aligned. It's quiet, spiritual, and oddly calming. Certainly something you wouldn't expect to be found in Montana.

#4 Makoshika State Park
Over in Glendive, Makoshika looks less like Montana and more like Mars with sagebrush. It's ruggedly beautiful and packed with dinosaur fossils. Locals call it "Montana's badlands," and fun fact it's Montana's largest state park.

#3 Miracle of America Museum, Polson
Imagine a time capsule exploded, and nobody bothered cleaning up. That's the Miracle of America Museum. It's a wild mash-up of Americana, military relics, motorcycles, and other oddities that you'd never guess to be located in the tiny town of Polson. Weird? Absolutely. Worth it? Every minute.

#2 Bannack Ghost Town
If you like your history with a side of eerie silence, Bannack is your spot. Once a booming gold rush town back in 1862, it's now perfectly preserved in ghostly stillness. Walk its creaky wooden sidewalks and learn about this National Historic Landmark.

#1 Polebridge Mercantile
Tucked away near Glacier National Park, Polebridge Mercantile is part bakery and part backroad legend. Their huckleberry bear claws alone are worth the dirt-road detour. No cell service, just their pastries, great people, and the legend that they have been serving the area for over a 100 years.
