Bozeman Restaurant Says Goodbye After 22 Years

It's never easy to say goodbye to something you love...and sometimes it can be difficult to say goodbye to something you're fond of. For those living in Bozeman, a popular downtown restaurant decided to close up shop by putting a sign on the front door letting patrons know that the end had come.

The sign read:

After 22 years wonderful years the time has come for us to close our doors. We are incredibly grateful for your loyalty, friendship, and support over the years. It's been our privilege to serve this community and be a part of your lives.

And with that, the Pita Pit on Main in downtown Bozeman was done. For many, the restaurant was the perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner that offered healthier options than a typical fast-food burger joint.

The first Pita Pit opened in Canada back in 1995 in Kingston, Ontario.

According to the data, there are right around 75 Pita Pit locations in the United States, which is down from the 200 that were operating a few years back. The corporate headquarters for the franchise on the U.S. is located down I-90 in Coeur d'Alene.

While 22 years in business is nothing to shake a stick at, you have to wonder what happened. Had the owners had enough? Were sales down? Was building rent to high? Were there too many options downtown?

This isn't the first restaurant we've seen close in downtown Bozeman, and it won't be the last. However, that doesn't mean that there still isn't a sting when we see something that's been a part of the community for so long, say goodbye.
