Trying New Things – Mommy Memos

My oldest, Emma, is a great kid.  She has a heart of gold and is fun, kind, and compassionate.  She is also the kid who wants to try every sport...usually just until she gets the uniform, and then wants to quit.

What I am finding, is that she doesn't want to compete in any sports that take up her weekend with her family, which I love.   She loves snow skiing, and this weekend something clicked with waterskiing, as you can see from the picture.  She even got comfortable enough to show off a bit!

I think my favorite part is her smile.  As soon as she got up and crossed the wake, I saw pure joy on her face.  I remember now why I push, not shove my kids into trying new things.  I don't care how old you are, it feels good to accomplish something new.
