Top Tips On How To Survive Montana Construction Zones
Summer means construction here in Montana. We don't always have a lot of time to get road construction projects done, so when summer hits, we have to go a bit overboard.
Huffine Lane is one of the most driven roads in Bozeman considering it will connect you to the overcrowded Jackrabbit Lane. Construction on Huffine Lane is scheduled to start this week (July 17th) and not be completed until this fall.
HUFFINE CONSTRUCTION PLANS HERE

When construction starts there are certain things to expect, it just comes with the season.
What to expect:
- Up to 15 minute delays
- Road Closures
- Flaggers
- One lane traffic
- Pilot cars
- Lights redirecting traffic
- Reduced Speed
- Width Restrictions
The Montana Department Of Transportation has numerous tips to help you get through work zones without stress:
Remember to slow down, follow the speed limit signs, and don't increase your speed until you see the sign that states: END OF CONSTRUCTION ZONE.
Manage Your Speed
Slow down when approaching all work zones. You will be in the work zone quicker than you think.
Don't resume normal speed until you see roadway signs indicating it's safe to do so.
