Did you know there is a day dedicated to the Ding-A-Ling? And today is that day! So, what is a Ding-A-Ling, anyway? According to FreeDictionary.com (does anyone actually have a dictionary book anymore?), a ding-a-ling is person who is eccentric or scatterbrained. For our British friends it is also slang for a telephone.

With all that in mind, today is the day we are to call someone you haven't heard from in a long time. You can also reach out to them on social media by using the #NationalDingaLingDay.

There is even a National Ding-A-Ling club. It was founded in 1972 by Franky Hyle, who charged $1 to join the club. The members would call friends or relatives they hadn't heard from in awhile every year on December 12th. Which brings us to today.
