Perfectly timed, Stacker came out with a list of the 50 Coziest Winter Cities In the U.S., and it is no shocker that Montana made the list more than once.

Here are the three Montana towns that make the list:

West Yellowstone

A population of less than 2000, makes this Yellowstone National Park gateway town the perfect stop on your drive to one of America's Favorite National Parks. During your visit, you can check out the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center which offers the chance for you to get close to bears and wolves.

Hamilton

If you love to backpack, you can get in some of the best hiking through the Bitterroot Mountains. Golf, theatre, local brews, and views of the Sapphire Mountains. The largest town in the valley, you can take in Montana history while enjoying the view as you sip your locally brewed coffee.

Bozeman

Skiing and snowboarding is a no brainer with Bridger Bowl Ski Area so close. If skiing isn't necessarily your thing, you can always catch a MSU basketball game, a winter craft fair, Bozeman Hot Springs, Museum of the Rockies (now with two new exhibits available until January 7th, 2024), breweries, and delicious food options. Bozeman is beautiful to say the least, but a cup of cider at the Sky Shed, found on the top of the Kimpton Armory, is a view you can't resist.

This Family Friendly "Montana Town" Is Frozen In Time

One of the coolest places to check out in Montana is the "Old Montana" town of Nevada City. Located just on the other side of Virginia City, Nevada City is the perfect example of what life was like back during the gold rush in the 1800s.

With several different buildings to tour and friendly folks to guide you through your visit, as well as tell you the stories of the times, Nevada City is not only educational but fun for the whole family.
