Our friends over at WalletHub released their findings for the best states for doctors to practice medicine based on pay, opportunity, and a quality environment. So how did Montana do? Well, the state of Montana stored high.
Montana ranked first out of all 50 states when it comes to income, opportunity, and quality care facilities.
It makes sense when you think about it. As people continue to move to Montana, many positions, including physicians are needed to keep up with the demands of the increasing population. So, how do you attract the best of the best? By great pay and opportunities.

Montana wasn't the only Western state that scored high marks. South Dakota, Utah, and Idaho all made the Top 10 with South Dakota coming in 2nd, Utah in 4th, and Idaho ranked 8th.
Montana has just over 50 hospitals and primary care facilities across the state.
