Push Present, Did You Get One?

The push present is a gift, often a piece of jewelry, a new father gives to a new mother when she gives birth to their first child.

According to TheFrisky.com, recently on The Real Housewives of Orange County, the newest cast member Peggy Tanous received a Bentley as her push present.

Apparently, moms seem to want some compensation for carrying a baby for nine months, getting sick, surviving labor, and losing their figure.

What about you?  Do you expect a push present after a having a baby?  Did you get one?  When I had my first, Emma, we didn't have a lot of extra money.  Mike was starting his business, we were newly married, and had baby bills to pay!   I didn't care about a push present.  Besides, whenever I ask Mike to do something I don't want to do, and he asks me why I can't do it, I just say, "because I gave birth."  That's my push present!
