New And Improved, The Very Best Mean Montana Comments We’ve Seen.
I knew they were coming and I also figured a few of them would be a bit brutal, but wow...some of you certainly took it to a whole other level.
I wrote an article a week or so ago about the refugees that were coming to Montana and the different organizations out there assisting with the transition and how we could all help out. Most of these folks are coming with little to nothing and starting over in a strange new land.
I'm fully aware that some people aren't real keen on people from other countries coming to America, (although strangely enough, that's what made America, America) I'm also aware that there are those that aren't overly friendly to those coming from a different background. So with that said, here are some of the comments that I received.
"No, they will not be welcomed. No outsider is right now. we are in a global pandemic and a housing crisis."
"If you want to be like California then just keep letting them in that is what has happened to California and now the evilness has set in California and if you want to you can welcome it here but I warned you people be wise to learn from the mistakes of other states look what has happened to them"
"Locals struggle to live in this valley. Who’s going to pay for them? They shouldn’t be here. Send them to California."
"I just hate that people help these people when we have our own struggling in Montana, any of these people brought have nicer things given to them and food while other people struggles."
"I was hoping we could just send them back."
"I would think, and hope, that Montanans keep their eyes and ears open and their guns loaded."
"Bears love unwanted illegal aliens"
"I will not support any of these groups, you all are asking for trouble."
"God does not want you to let evilness into your communities"
"We don't want them here, and I am from Montana, keep them out."
There were several more. Some of them I refused to put in the article because they were over the top and just plain mean-spirited and I will not participate in any of that.
As I said in my original article, my dealings with the folks of Montana have always been nothing but kind. Montanas are extremely friendly and helpful and some of the finest people I've ever known. However, online people tend to be a little sketchy. When folks get online, they tend to be a little more unfiltered and say things they might not say face to face. Oh, and it's not just here, it's everywhere and it's only gotten worse in the last couple of years.
Maybe instead of focusing on our differences, we can focus on what we have in common. Parenthood. Education. Sports. Acceptance. Making a better life for ourselves and our families. Those are things that almost all of us deal with, no matter where we were born.
