We always hear about all of the great things that Montana offers. Whether you love the views, the open country, the history, or the endless outdoor activities, it seems like the world has discovered the "Last Best Place". We are no longer a hidden gem.

What people forget about, refuse to talk about, or perhaps just don't want to talk about is the number of missing people/children we have throughout the state. As of right now, Montana has 189 missing individuals.

Of the 189 missing, 83 of those cases are less than a year old, whereas 106 have been missing for a year or more. 51 of the missing person cases in Montana involve indigenous persons.

Let's be honest, it's not often we hear about the missing and/or murdered indigenous people cases, other than the original alert that someone is missing. In some cases the public isn't notified for weeks after an indigenous person has gone missing. Why is that?

To bring awareness and education to how horrific the situation regarding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Person's is, Museum of the Rockies, along with The Extreme History Project are showing a three part docuseries.

This event is one that gives you insight from people who have experienced, first hand, the horrible epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), that is taking place here in Montana.

This event is just part 1 of the 3 part docuseries. You can can get more information and find out when part 2 of the docuseries will be presented at Museum of the Rockies right HERE.

Top 5 Safest Cities In Montana, 2023

Like every state, there are always going to be a few towns that make us think twice about moving there or deciding where to raise our kiddos. But like I always say, "negative yells and positive whispers". The same goes for crime and violence; we hear about all the drug busts, assaults, break-ins, etc. It's not very often we hear about all the great things right?
Well, the list came out from Safewise, and we now know where the Five Safest Cities In Montana are.

Montana's Museum Of The Rockies Is For Everyone! Check It Out

Museum of the Rockies is nestled right next to Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman. The Museum is part of the American Alliance of Museums, which means that the Museum of the Rockies is one of the 1,095 museums to hold this distinction. With over 33,000 museums nationwide, this is quite an accomplishment.

The Museum of the Rockies is also part of the Montana Dinosaur Trail. What is that? It is a trail that runs through the state of Montana and has 14 locations. Each location will get you just a little closer to the history and knowledge of Dinosaurs.

Museum of the Rockies has current and rotating exhibits. Currently, (December 2021) here are some of my favorites that are on display: Siebel Dinosaur Complex, Welcome to Yellowstone Country, which digs into the history of Montana, Enduring Peoples Exhibit, highlighting the American Indians of Montana, and the Paugh Exhibit, illuminating the stories that connect us with the Northern Colorado Rockies. You can see all the exhibits here to make planning your trip easier.

Museum of the Rockies is an independent 501 Non-Profit here in Bozeman. With that being said, they hold some of the most exquisite benefits throughout the year. This gives the museum the opportunity to continue to be a highlight for the city of Bozeman. Another way to continue the success of the Museum of the Rockies is to become a member.

If you are considering donating to the Museum of the Rockies, you can check it out here and decide which program works best for you. Help Bozeman keep this amazing learning tool open and available to everyone. Enjoy your time at the Museum of the Rockies.
