For those living outside of Montana, many hold the impression of a big state full of mountains, wildlife, ranches, and cowboys. While there is some truth to that narrative, Montanans are some of the most educated individuals in the United States.

Did you know that according to new data from WalletHub, Montana ranks 14th for the most educated states across the country?

The website survived thousands of parents from across the country, compiled a list of 250 school districts, and then compiled their list of "The Most Envied School Districts in America". While Montana had a handful of districts make the list, 3 of those districts landed in the Top 100, which is quite an accomplishment.

Which 3 Montana School Districts made the Top 100?

Kalispell, Bozeman, and Billings all made the Top 100 list. Kalispell ranked the highest coming in 54th, followed by Bozeman at 62nd, and Billings just made the Top 100 coming in 97th. All three cities continue to grow in population and with that, it appears that the education systems in those towns are serving the students well.

It should be noted that Helena barely missed the Top 100 and came in at 104 while Missoula did make the 250 list but was more towards the bottom.

However, it should be mentioned that not all of Montana is on equal footing. Many of the more rural and poor areas across the state struggle with their schools and ensuring enough quality teachers to educate the students in those districts. Part of this is a lack of funding, and part could be location.
